IDEA FACTORY INTERNATIONAL has announced Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2, a direct sequel to Dokapon Kingdom: Connect that will bring more turn-based competition and friendship-testing antics to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam in Summer 2027. The game will launch simultaneously worldwide, marking the first time the franchise has received a simultaneous global release.
Like its predecessor, Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 combines role-playing mechanics with board game-style gameplay, where a single turn can make the difference between getting ahead and sabotaging a friend’s plans. The sequel expands on the formula with more character customization options, over 10 job classes to master, and massive cooperative battles that let players work together for potentially substantial rewards. Whether those spoils will be shared fairly is another matter entirely.
Players will be able to enjoy the adventure solo, through local multiplayer for up to four players, or online with two to four participants. The sequel will also introduce a new mode in which everyone starts at a higher level with powerful equipment, offering a different way to experience its competitive gameplay.
Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 is being developed by IDEA FACTORY, COMPILE HEART, and STING. The game is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam in Summer 2027, with physical release details still to be announced.
Before its worldwide launch, Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 will make its public debut at Thailand Game Show 2026, running from October 29 through November 1. Attendees will be able to watch the announcement trailer, try the original Dokapon Kingdom: Connect, and receive a commemorative pin badge while supplies last at the game’s booth in the Japan Pavilion.
