Luck can be a fickle thing, especially when everything depends on a handful of dice. Dice Have No Eyes, a bizarre dice-rolling roguelike from indie developers Franek and Max Cahill, is preparing to leave Early Access and launch its full 1.0 release on November 20. The update promises a substantial collection of new content, including an ending, additional characters, new boards, items, Steam achievements, and plenty of other additions.

Developed by two of the creators behind Arco, Dice Have No Eyes takes the familiar appeal of risk-and-reward roguelikes and gives it a decidedly stranger personality. Players roll dice to earn points, but knowing when to stop is just as important as knowing when to push their luck. Every additional roll offers the possibility of a bigger score, but getting too greedy can also bring everything crashing down. Fortunately, each attempt provides another opportunity to experiment with different dice, discover powerful synergies, and see just how far luck can carry a run.

Much like Balatro, there is an emphasis on building increasingly powerful combinations, although Dice Have No Eyes has its own peculiar approach to the formula. Players can improve and swap their dice between cleared levels, collect trinkets, and discover spells and snacks that change how their runs unfold. There are also multiple playable characters and companions, with various endings waiting to be discovered. And if rolling enough sixes is not enough to satisfy your ambitions, perhaps you might even meet God.

The November 20 update looks set to give players plenty of additional reasons to return. Alongside the game’s finale, the 1.0 release introduces new characters, items, babies, another Rift Level, additional boards, character endings, and new customization options. Players will also be able to discover music cassettes and use them to create an in-game playlist. Steam achievements and leaderboards are also being added, alongside additional language support and a variety of quality-of-life improvements, including reworked controls and fixes.

Powered by the developers’ God n’ Fate engine, Dice Have No Eyes embraces the unpredictability of its premise, turning every roll into another opportunity to get lucky or lose everything. With its full release approaching, November 20 will finally give players the chance to experience the complete adventure, including its long-awaited ending. Just remember that knowing when to stop rolling might be the most important skill of all.
