Indonesian developer Agate and UAE-based publisher Red Dunes Games are bringing their upcoming action RPG Blades of Mirage to Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving attendees a chance to get hands-on with the adventure at the event.
Blades of Mirage will be playable at Hall 7, Booth N03, where visitors can experience its combination of fast-paced combat, puzzle-focused exploration, and light RPG mechanics.
The game follows Mira as she leaves her village and ventures into the ancient realm of Brightlands, a world on the brink of destruction after the six guardians who once protected it begin abandoning their duties. Along the way, Mira will uncover mysteries surrounding her past, battle corrupted guardians, and discover new abilities that can be used for both combat and solving puzzles.
Boss encounters are designed around learning enemy attack patterns and adapting to each fight, with players able to make use of different runes and skills to overcome the challenges standing in their way. These encounters include mythical guardians protecting sacred relics, with careful timing and strategy required to survive.
Agate says Blades of Mirage is expected to offer around eight hours of gameplay, with its adventure built around exploration, discovery, puzzles, and handcrafted encounters. The game draws inspiration from titles including Death’s Door, Tunic, and Bastion, while its world and visual identity are heavily influenced by Southeast Asian culture.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 will mark the event’s 30th anniversary and its first five-day edition. Blades of Mirage will be among the upcoming and independent titles showcased during this year’s event, giving attendees an opportunity to see what Agate and Red Dunes Games have been working on.
