SEGA has officially released the free Axel Content Drop for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, giving players the chance to hit the track as the iconic Crazy Taxi character.
Axel is now available as a playable character in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, alongside his signature vehicle, the Devolada Yellow Jack. The free content also adds special emotes and sounds, including “Axel: Character Select” and “Axel: Result,” both of which can be accessed through the in-game Jukebox.
Starting Thursday, August 27 at 5:00 PM PT, players will also be able to earn Festival Points through the Axel-themed content, which can be exchanged for decals, gadgets, and other rewards.
The free Axel Content Drop includes:
- Axel as a playable character
- Axel’s Devolada Yellow Jack vehicle
- Special Axel emotes and sounds
- “Axel: Character Select” track for the Jukebox
- “Axel: Result” track for the Jukebox
Players who own either the Standard Edition, whether physical or digital, or the Digital Deluxe Edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will automatically receive the free Axel Content Drop. Players should make sure their game has been updated to the latest version to ensure the new content downloads properly.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now physically and digitally on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC starting at $69.99 USD. The game is also available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED Model, and Nintendo Switch Lite starting at $59.99 USD.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available both physically and digitally for $69.99 USD.
