TAITO has released many classic games over the years, including the Operation Wolf light gun series. First released in arcades in 1987, the game received commercial and critical acclaim, before being ported to multiple home formats. Taito capitalized on the game’s popularity and released series of sequels including Operation Thunderbolt (1988), Operation Wolf 3 (1994) and Operation Tiger (1998). That last game is of interest because of something many were not aware of.

Operation Tiger itself received a sequel in the form of Operation Tiger: Second Mission,  but it was only released in Japan and was so so rare many people didn’t even realize it existed. Video Game Esoterica notes that Operation Tiger: Second Mission runs on custom Taito 3D hardware, more importantly, an original arcade PCB has now been found. With its disovery, the game has now been dumped and preserved online, ensuring this rare piece of gaming history will live on.
