Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing improved visuals, 60 FPS gameplay, and cross-generation multiplayer to SEGA’s anime fighting game. The new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available starting today, October 29, with existing Nintendo Switch owners able to upgrade at no additional cost.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition features a higher-quality visual presentation and a 60 FPS framerate, offering a smoother experience compared to the original Nintendo Switch release. Players can also continue battling through the game’s two-player local and online VS Mode, with cross-generation support allowing Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 users to fight against one another.
The game is available in several editions, with the digital Standard Edition priced at $39.99 USD and the digital Ultimate Edition available for $64.99 USD. The Standard Edition includes the base game alongside Character Unlock Keys for Academy Rengoku and Academy Uzui, while the Ultimate Edition also features the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Character Pass.
The Infinity Castle Character Pass adds seven characters to the game’s VS Mode roster, including Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kocho, Akaza, Doma, and Kaigaku, all based on their Infinity Castle appearances. The Ultimate Edition also includes six additional Character Unlock Keys, three Battle Attire options, and the Upper Rank Demons Set of VS Mode System Voices.
A physical edition is also available for $59.99 USD, including the base game and the Infinity Castle Character Pass.
For those who already own Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 on Nintendo Switch, either digitally or physically, the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available through a free upgrade pass. However, the Infinity Castle Character Pass is not included with the upgrade and must be purchased separately through the Nintendo eShop.
The launch also coincides with a sales milestone for the franchise’s video game adaptations. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles and Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 have collectively surpassed six million units sold.
