FunPlus is bringing a heavy dose of DC’s Death Metal universe to DC: Dark Legion with its latest Halloween event, introducing a new storyline and making Superman Death Metal available to unlock for the first time.
The new Dark Genesis storyline begins with the discovery that Superman Death Metal is still alive, but imprisoned in another dimension. Players will join Batman Death Metal, Zatanna, and Constantine on a mission to rescue him, venturing into the Land of the Dead as the barrier between realms begins to weaken. The journey involves piecing together the prison’s coordinates and stabilizing an occult ritual before confronting the Pararobins and Darkfather’s remaining forces in a fight to escape.
The headline addition is Superman Death Metal himself, who players can unlock by collecting champion shards through the event’s activities and exchanging rewards in the event shop. The shop will also feature a new base skin inspired by the Bottle City of Kandor, giving players another reward to pursue throughout the event.
Several activities will be available during the celebration. Mystic Search lets players dispatch champion squads to gather materials and rewards needed to open the portal to Superman Death Metal’s prison, while Solar Sonar tasks players with earning Disks of Ra to reach milestone rewards. Progress through Solar Sonar also unlocks Superchange, providing attack bonuses in Unchained Payback.
Mystic Alignment offers another set of rewards, challenging players to complete tasks that illuminate lights on an occult board. Filling an entire row of the 16-light board grants additional prizes. Meanwhile, Unchained Payback puts Superman Death Metal into battle against Pararobins and Devastator’s minions after his escape from the Solar Jail. Players can use a Sun Tarot Card to participate, with Wonder Woman Death Metal and Batman Death Metal providing bonuses against the event’s enemies.
Players can also redeem the code WEBGIFT for a limited time. The code is valid from October 25 through October 31, 2026, at 23:59 UTC.
The Dark Genesis Halloween event is live in DC: Dark Legion from October 22 through November 8, giving players just over two weeks to take part in the activities, collect rewards, and work toward unlocking Superman Death Metal.
