CD PROJEKT RED and co-development partner Virtuos have detailed Cyberpunk 2077’s version 2.5 update, officially titled the Edgerunners II update, introducing new quests, dual-wielding, cross-platform mod support and a range of other additions to Night City. The free update launches on October 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version set to follow in the days after.
Among the biggest additions is a new perk called Double Trouble in the Cool skill tree, allowing V to dual-wield Power-category pistols and revolvers. The update also adds a new side quest, “Clampdown,” set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners II, alongside a five-piece gear set inspired by the character King. Another new mission, “Welcome to Paradise,” sends players on a guided tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night.
Players will also be able to customize the appearance of their hand cyberware, including Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System. Five new Glamdocs across Night City offer unique cyberware skins, customizable colors and their own introductory scenes. Other additions include new clothing collections, previously NPC-exclusive hairstyles for V, additional Photo Mode poses and frames inspired by the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game.
The update introduces a new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, featuring music from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series. Players can also discover 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards around Night City, with collecting them all providing a special reward. Four new Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech vehicle skins will be available through Twitch Drops.
Cross-platform mod support is another major addition, powered by mod.io. Players on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S will be able to browse and install a selection of player-created mods directly through the in-game menu, with more mods planned to become available over time. On consoles, playing with a modded save disables achievements and trophies for that save file.
Several quality-of-life improvements are also included. Players can now organize save files by playthrough, filter items in apartment and vehicle stashes, and adjust the field of view on consoles. The update also brings various bug fixes, HDR improvements and performance optimizations, including enhancements for ray tracing and PlayStation 5 Pro. PC players will gain DLSS 4.5 support, while Mac users receive MetalFX Frame Interpolation and Denoising support.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Version 2.5 will not be released for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
