WoodRunner Games’ frog prince platformer CROAK is hopping onto Xbox Series X|S in March 2027, with the upcoming release also set to join Xbox Game Pass on day one. The announcement expands the game’s platform lineup, with PC versions planned for Steam and the Microsoft Store alongside its newly confirmed Xbox release.

CROAK puts a challenging twist on the classic fairy tale, following a prince who has been transformed into a frog after his kingdom falls under a curse. Rather than relying on conventional platforming alone, players will use the prince’s tongue to grapple, propel themselves through the air, and bounce across hundreds of hand-crafted rooms. Its distinctive movement system is built around precision, quick reflexes, and finding creative ways to navigate each obstacle.

The journey will take players through a variety of environments, including swamps, haunted mines, and snowy mountain ranges, each featuring its own gameplay mechanics. Secret areas, collectibles, enemies, and bosses will also stand between the frog prince and the cursed castle, as players gradually uncover the mystery behind the kingdom’s transformation.

CROAK features hand-drawn visuals and animation from artists with experience on Cuphead and Rick and Morty, giving its fractured fairy tale a distinctive look. The game is scheduled to launch in March 2027 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Game Pass subscribers able to jump in on release day.
