DreamWorks Shrek 2 Remastered is bringing the beloved ogre’s 2004 video game adventure back for a new generation, with updated visuals, additional features, and expanded multiplayer options. Developed and published by Aspyr, the remaster will launch on November 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store for $29.99.

Originally released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC, Shrek 2 was an action-adventure game based on the hit DreamWorks Animation movie. The remaster will revisit the fairytale kingdom of Far Far Away, taking players through familiar locations as they battle enemies, tackle environmental puzzles, and relive moments inspired by the film.

The updated release promises improved textures, an enhanced user interface, 4K resolution, and upgraded cutscenes. It will also introduce Photo Mode and Cheat Mode, giving players new ways to revisit the adventure. Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, and other familiar characters will be part of the experience, with players able to switch between heroes and use their individual abilities to overcome obstacles and bosses.

Co-op is also a major part of the package, with support for up to four players. Alongside local couch co-op, the remaster will support online multiplayer and mixed sessions combining local and online players, making it easier to revisit the adventure with friends regardless of where they are playing.

With Shrek 2 Remastered arriving on November 10, the classic game is set to return across current consoles and PC with a range of technical improvements and new features. The remaster gives fans another opportunity to explore Far Far Away, this time with updated presentation and more ways to play together.
