SEGA and RGG Studio have released a new story trailer for STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, offering a closer look at the first chapter of protagonist Makoto Daito’s life. Titled “Act 1: Kokura Story Trailer,” the footage follows Daito’s journey to Japan and the people who shape his early experiences there.
Having endured persecution in America, Daito stows away aboard the merchant Orpheus’s so-called “ghost ship” in hopes of reaching Japan. He soon meets Yu Shinjo, another stowaway who will eventually become his best friend. However, their arrival in Kokura brings its own hardships as the two confront the difficult realities of life in Japan.
The trailer also highlights Daito’s encounters with people whose lives become intertwined with his own, as well as the circumstances that lead him to become a showman. These experiences help him establish the foundations he needs to survive in an unfamiliar country.
SEGA and RGG Studio plan to release additional trailers exploring Daito’s life in each of the cities featured in STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, with each video focusing on a different period of his journey.
