With more than 500,000 wishlists on Steam, Drunken Goddess Reflux is already attracting plenty of attention ahead of its launch, and the unusual roguelike survival game now has a release date. Publisher Alliance Arts and developer WHO YOU revealed during the Triple-i Showcase that players will face its hellish drinking challenge on PC via Steam on December 8, 2026. Those eager to test their alcohol tolerance can get an early taste when the game’s debut demo arrives during Steam Next Fest, which begins October 19.

Set inside Pandemonium, a bar in the depths of Hell, Drunken Goddess Reflux pits players against Femme Soule, a demon of alcohol searching for a soulmate. Her idea of romance involves a deadly game of Russian roulette fueled by infernal liquor, with players forced to keep drinking to avoid an eternity in the underworld. Femme Soule might be acting out of love, but that does little to make her proposition any more appealing, particularly when her potential partner would much rather return to reality.

Survival revolves around staying conscious for as long as possible as each drink brings both participants closer to vomiting out their souls. Players will need to employ underhanded tricks to tilt the odds in their favour, even resorting to an ice pick and a little self-inflicted pain to shake off the effects of intoxication. The goal is to outlast Femme Soule and make her lose her lunch first, although losing the contest means surrendering your soul and accepting a decidedly one-sided happily-ever-after in Hell.

According to Alliance Arts head developer Fuyuki Hayashi, the response to the game so far has been overwhelming, with the upcoming Steam Next Fest demo giving players their first opportunity to experience the concept for themselves and offer feedback ahead of launch.

Drunken Goddess Reflux will launch on PC via Steam on December 8, 2026, with English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese language support. Players can find more information through Alliance Arts’ official website and social media channels.

Meanwhile, Alliance Arts’ previous release, Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis, will receive a 20% discount on Steam until October 15 as part of the Triple-i event.
