KONAMI is expanding the competition for the next eFootball world champion, with the eFootball Championship 2027 increasing the number of World Finals competitors from 16 to 24 in both the Console and Mobile divisions. The upcoming season will also feature a larger prize pool, rising from $100,000 to $300,000, alongside a new qualification pathway designed to give more players a chance to reach the global stage.

The eFootball Championship 2027 will feature two main competitions. The Club Event will see players represent partner clubs, including FC Barcelona and Manchester United, while the Open competition will be available to players worldwide. The season will also introduce Local Events across countries and territories, with winners earning direct qualification to the World Finals.

Players who advance through the Club Event, Open and Local Event competitions will compete at the eFootball Championship 2027 World Finals, scheduled for summer 2027. The tournament will determine the next world champion as competitors vie for their share of the increased prize pool.

The new season begins with the eFootball Championship 2027 FC Internazionale Milano, which will determine the club’s representative for the competition. Meanwhile, players who achieve top placements in the in-game Round 3 Ranking Event will be eligible to earn special Show Time rewards to strengthen their squads.

There are also additional incentives for players who succeed in the Club Event. Winners of their respective Club Finals will be invited to participate in the exclusive Club Tour program, which offers the opportunity to visit their partner club’s stadium, attend an official match and take part in a stadium tour.

According to KONAMI, last season’s eFootball Championship attracted a record 45 million participants worldwide. With more World Finals places, a tripled prize pool and additional routes to qualification, the 2027 season aims to build on that participation as players compete for the title of eFootball world champion.
