After a decade in development, Jonathan Blow’s latest puzzle adventure has finally arrived. Arc Games and Thekla, Inc. have announced that Order of the Sinking Star is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5, giving players the chance to explore a sprawling fantasy world filled with mysteries, interconnected puzzle systems, and more than 1,000 handcrafted challenges.
Priced at $29.99, the game is the largest puzzle adventure yet from Blow, the acclaimed designer behind Braid and The Witness. Players will explore four distinct worlds, each with its own characters, mechanics, and secrets, as their stories gradually converge and introduce new ways to approach its increasingly complex puzzles.
Rather than forcing players down a linear path, Order of the Sinking Star encourages experimentation and exploration at their own pace. Its open-ended structure allows players to move between worlds whenever they encounter a particularly difficult challenge, while new mechanics build upon previously learned concepts to create increasingly elaborate puzzles. The adventure also features a fully voiced cast, including Emily O’Brien as The Queen, Liam O’Brien as The Warrior, Darin De Paul as The Wizard, Anjali Bhimani as The Bard, Erica Luttrell as The Sailor, and Matthew Waterson as The Druid, alongside a special appearance by Blow himself.
The launch is also being celebrated with three discounted bundles on Steam. Players can pick up Order of the Sinking Star alongside the cat-focused roguelite Mewgenics or the atmospheric exploration adventure Animal Well, with both bundles available at a 10% discount. A third bundle pairs the game with its original soundtrack, which is also available separately.
With hundreds of hours of potential gameplay, a mysterious fantasy setting, and puzzle mechanics designed to intertwine in unexpected ways, Order of the Sinking Star aims to offer a substantial new challenge for fans of the genre. The game is available now on Steam, Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 for $29.99.
