PiXEL’s pseudo-3D shoot-’em-up Angelian Trigger is getting ready to expand its reach, with the game heading to PC via Steam on December 10 before making the jump to PlayStation 5 sometime in 2027. The game is already available on Nintendo Switch, having originally launched in Japan in December 2024.

Angelian Trigger takes inspiration from the pseudo-3D shooting games of the past, putting players behind the controls of Mia and Sheryl as they investigate a mysterious request involving the planet Sarius. What initially looks like another job for the Eames Detective Agency soon pulls the pair into a much larger conspiracy.

The two protagonists also offer different ways to approach the action. Mia can double jump while wielding dual pistols, whereas Sheryl can float and carries a large cannon. Players can also make use of the support robot O-P2, which can provide covering fire and deploy force fields during battles.

The game features 24 stages across its Story and Arcade modes, with each planet containing four stages and a boss waiting at the end. Angelian Trigger also uses homing lasers that can lock onto multiple enemies, while taking down groups of foes can provide additional points for players looking to push their scores higher.

A new trailer has also been released alongside the announcement, featuring the game’s ending theme, “Believe,” performed by Miho Morikawa. The PC version is scheduled to launch through Steam on December 10, while the PlayStation 5 version is currently planned for 2027.

One thing worth noting is that the game’s Steam listing currently only lists Japanese as a supported language, despite an earlier version of the page having listed English support. Angelian Trigger is already available on Switch in Japan, meaning the upcoming PC and PS5 releases will give the shoot-’em-up another opportunity to find an audience outside its original release.
