Publisher 505 Games and developer ArtPlay have announced that Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement has been delayed to 2027.
The game is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Producer Koji Igarashi announced the delay in a video message, explaining that the development team had made the decision to move the game’s release to 2027.
“Currently, the development of the game has entered its final stages,” Igarashi said. The developer has also released several new screenshots of Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement and plans to share gameplay footage at a later date.
While the delay means players will have to wait longer to experience the follow-up to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Igarashi said the development team is continuing to work toward delivering the best possible game.
“We understand that this is disappointing news for our fans, but everyone on the development team is working hard to make the game the best it can be,” Igarashi said. “We truly appreciate your continued support.”
