HAMSTER has revealed that Konami’s arcade title Dark Adventure will be coming to the Arcade Archives lineup on  Nintendo Switch and PS4.

Dark Adventure has an interesting history, as it was initially released in North America in 1987 and starred an archaeologist named Dr. Condor based on Indiana Jones, a reporter named Labryna, and another archaeologist named Zorlock, who are transported to a monster-filled world.

The original machine was playable by up to three people at once, with each character possessing a different weapon such as a whip, sword, and spear. When the game was later released in Japan as “Majū no Ōkoku” and Europe & Australia as “Devil World” ( not to be confused with the Nintendo game of the same name) it underwent a number of changes. The game would be distributed as a 2-player conversion kit, with the character of Zorlock being removed and a number of changes and adjustments made, such as players starting with a long-range weapon instead of melee items and many alterations made to the number of levels and their design across different regions.

The good news though, is that this Arcade Archives release will include all three versions of the game.

Arcade Archives Dark Adventure will release on August 17th.
