Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii is at Napoli Comicon right now, talking about a number of things, and it seems that one of those things may have been something he was not supposed to mention just yet.
There have been many games to get remakes over the years and one that fans have wanted is Chrono Trigger, widely considered one of the greatest RPGs of all time. Well, it seems Horii apparently let it slip at Napoli Comicon that Chrono Trigger is indeed getting a remake and his statement has caused a kerfuffle, as this information hadn’t been made public anywhere else. Notably, once he said this, someone was seen whispering something in Horii’s ear, and the conversation was steered away from Chrono Trigger immediately.
It is possible that things have been lost in translation and the whole back-and-forth was a misunderstanding, so please take everything with a grain of salt. However, if we are indeed getting a remake of Chrono Trigger, it will be interesting to see what form it takes.
