Snail Games has unveiled an extended look at 9 Yin Sutra: Wuxia, giving players a deeper glimpse at its open-world martial arts RPG during gamescom. The new nine-minute video explores the game’s world, combat systems, progression, and its take on a Wuxia-inspired version of Ancient China.

Set across sprawling cities, remote wilderness, mountain ranges, and hidden strongholds, 9 Yin Sutra: Wuxia is built around exploration and player freedom. Dynamic weather and a constantly evolving world are intended to make the setting feel alive as players uncover secrets and decide how they want to approach their journey.

Combat centers around a skill-based Feint, Overt, and Block system, with timing and precision playing a major role in battles. Players can learn different martial arts techniques and use them to develop their own fighting style as they work toward becoming a Grandmaster.

The world is also populated by more than a thousand unique NPCs, each with their own goals, relationships, and stories. Players can interact with these characters while pursuing different lifestyles, whether that means becoming a wandering hero, merchant, craftsman, faction leader, or dedicated martial arts master.

Rather than following a single predetermined path, 9 Yin Sutra: Wuxia is designed around letting players shape their own legend through exploration, combat, relationships, and progression. The game was previously announced under the title 9 Yin Sutra: Wushu.
