IO Interactive has pushed back the Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light, with the game now scheduled to launch in March 2027 rather than its previously planned summer 2026 release window.
The developer said the additional time will be used to polish the game’s performance on Nintendo’s new console, ensuring the Switch 2 version meets the expected level of quality. An exact release date will be announced at a later time.
“We know many of you have been looking forward to experiencing Bond’s reimagined origin story on Nintendo Switch 2, and we greatly appreciate your enthusiasm,” IO Interactive said. “To ensure we deliver the quality of experience players expect, we have made the decision to delay the release to March 2027.”
The studio also pointed to the positive reception 007 First Light received at gamescom, with the same demo set to be playable at Tokyo Game Show this week.
007 First Light originally launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 27. The Nintendo Switch 2 version was initially planned to launch alongside those versions before being delayed.
