Limited Run Games has been releasing new physical releases of classic games for a while, but there has been criticism building for a while over various practices. The newest issue, however, may be a deal breaker for some.
Limited Run Games is being accused of charging a premium for limited releases, for which they are allegedly just burning CD-Rs for some of the disc based titles and selling them at an exorbitant price.
The company has allegedly been doing this with 3DO re-releases, with the games not working on actual hardware.
Todd Gill mentioned this on Twitter/X, which you can see here below

Voultar then commented on the matter, noting that LRG can charge over 60 USD for some of these games, yet they are producing a low quality product allegedly.

Another user then responded revealing that Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties and the Monkey Island Anthology were also CD-R. The latter cost over 200 USD and did not even check that the games could be installed from Discs.
Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties pc edition shipped on DVD-R. And replacement disc for Monkey Island Anthology, a $200 set that they didn’t even check you could correctly install from the discs, was also a DVD-R. I was furious.

LRG needs to address these issues because consumers are not getting the quality they are paying for.
