In a recent feature, Famitsu spoke with Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii, and a brief status update on the HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III was provided.
Horri stated that the project’s development is progressing steadily and he is providing advice to the team given how he worked on the original game way back in the day.
When asked about Dragon Quest XII as well, Horri didn’t give a big answer, but only stated that he can’t say much about it.
Horii did suggest last December that the remake could be shown soon, but it still hasn’t appeared. Perhaps Square Enix is just waiting for the right moment.
