City Connection has announced that Wolf Fang / Skull Fang Saturn Tribute Boosted will be released PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and P and will launch on October 31 in Japan, with the PlayStation 5 and Switch versions to be available both physically and digitally.
The physical edition will cost 5,940 yen for the standard edition and 9,900 yen for the limited edition, with the digital edition costing 4,980 yen on Switch, with pricing for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC to be announced. The physical limited edition will include a copy of the game, clear file (pre-order bonus), cassette tape (Claris Shop-exclusive), official fan book, and a two-disc arrange soundtrack, all housed in a special box. The collection includes the side-scrolling run-and-gun shooter Wolf Fang: Kuuga 2001, which was known as Rohga: Armor Force in the west, and the vertical-scrolling shoot ’em up Skull Fang: Kuuga Gaiden. Both games were originally released by Data East for arcades, and later received conversions for the SEGA Saturn. Both titlse includes a wide range of additional functions, like “Rewind” and “Save & Load” functions, and a new “Boosted” background music arrangement. In addition, in Wolf Fang: Kuuga 2001, you can change your mech’s color, strengthen its armor, and increase gauge recovery speed, while in Skull Fang: Kuuga Gaiden, you can enable unlimited continues and change the screen to a vertical monitor format.
The new arrange soundtrack includes work from COSIO, Fantom Iris, MASAKI of ZUNTATA< O.T.K., Shohei Tsuchiya of ZUNTATA, Hagane (STEEL PLUS), Keishi Yonao, Ayako Saso, Shinji Hosoe, and Daisuke Matsumoto.
