During the Tokyo Game Show, it was announced that Wizardry: The Five Ordeals would be coming to Switch in Japan in 2025, but no word was given on a western release. Well, a listing on the eshop has confirmed the game will come west on Jan 30, 2025.

Classic hardcore gameplay. Experience a deep dungeon crawling RPG. This game was created by the main staff that worked on the popular RPG series back in 2006. In this game, players can experience many different dungeon crawler RPGs using the same base system. Available with enhancements to the UI and much more. Official scenarios seen for the first time each with dozens of hours of gameplay.

Gameplay that is easy to get into. Players will create their own character – much like a traditional tabletop RPG – and venture into a grid based dungeon with a party of up to 6 members. The turn based combat mixes the simplicity of JRPGs with the difficulty of tabletop RPGs. (Our internal dice is not rigged!) Your character can be lost forever and saves will be overwritten. Get ready for a classic hardcore adventure.

In addition, there will be a triple pack version of the game containing the following:
– The Five Ordeals
– Scenario DLC Prisoners of the Battles
– Scenario DLC The Absence of Misericordia

Prisoners of the Battles is an enhanced and improved version of Wizardry Gaiden: Prisoners of the Battles while The Absence of Misericordia was based off of a mobile game in the series that was remade as a scenario for the Steam release of Wizardry: The Five Ordeals. It was previously noted that there will be support for user-created “User Scenarios” added in a day one update.
