WayForward is bringing us Contra: Operation Galuga early in the new year and the developer is seeking to bridge the gap between old and new Contra experiences with the game, including revamped multiplayer offerings. Thanks to a new interview with Nintendo Life we now have got a few more details on what will be included.

In the interview, WayForward’s Tomm Hulett shared some new details about the multiplayer, such as that the Story Mode supports 1 or 2 players, and Arcade Mode up to 4. In arcade mode, more players means more enemy spawns and varied placement as well, which will even change as you adjust the overall difficulty level as well. In addition, boss HP increases a bit to compensate as well making the challenge more intense.

Contra: Operation Galuga will be released in early 2024 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch
