Today, Owlcat Games have published a new Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy trailer as part of TurnBasedThursdayFest. The trailer focuses on the Chirurgeon Medicae specialist Epione; an expert in all aspects of her profession through her brilliant intellect and ruthless pursuit of knowledge.
In a world full of violence and disease, the Inquisition needs acolytes like Epione Spes to tend to the wounded and excise the corrupted. Epione has mastered the art of diagnosis, the mysteries of pharmacopoeia, and the precise craft of chirurgery. Despite losing the high status her birth afforded her, she was able to study medicine and became a valuable asset of the Inquisition after enduring brutal hardships. A lesser mind would break upon being confronted with the heresies and maladies plaguing the Calixis sector, but Epeione has decided to get to the bottom of the mysterious disease ravaging Scintilla.
In combat, Epione is not just an efficient field medic; healing her comrades’ wounds and injecting them with stimulants to keep on fighting. She is also a dangerous close-quarters fighter, burning everyone who comes too close to a crisp with her flamer or hit their vitals with her scalpel. Out of combat, her medical knowledge and analytical prowess allow her to provide useful insights into the Inquisition’s investigations.
Players can get a first-hand impression of Epione in the ongoing alpha on Steam by purchasing either the Collector’s Edition or the Developer’s Digital Pack on the website. The alpha will stay open for several months in order for the developers to collect more feedback and for players to come up with new ways to shape their own path as an acolyte of the Inquisition.
