Treasure made some of the best games of the ’90s and ’00s, including hits like Gunstar Heroes, Radiant Silvergun, Guardian Heroes, Ikaruga, Alien Soldier, Sin & Punishment and Mischief Makers just to name a few. The company’s games have continued to be in the public sphere with re-release of games like Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun on modern systems and Nintendo re-releasing Sin & Punishment on Wii U and Switch, but Treasure has not developed anything new in a decade since 2014’s Gaist Crusher God on 3DS. While Treasure does still exist as an ongoing business concern, president and founder Masato Maegawa is the only significant person still attached to it that we know of.
It seems 2024 could be the year this all changes though, as in asocial media post highlighting the fact that Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun are both on sale at the moment, Treasure added the following message for its fans:
Next year, I want to make something for the first time in a while
What do you think? Could we be seeing a new game from Tresure at last? What would you want them to make?
