It looks like the adventure is coming to an end for The New Denpa Men, as Genius Sonority has announced that the free-to-play RPG will end service on December 6. The shutdown will bring the game’s run to a close after roughly two years.
The New Denpa Men originally launched for Nintendo Switch in July 2024 before making its way to iOS and Android in March 2025. Earlier this year, the game also received a Nintendo Switch 2 version with improved visual quality, a higher resolution, and a higher refresh rate while retaining the same gameplay experience as the original Switch release.
The game revolves around catching the titular Denpa Men, mysterious creatures said to be born from radio waves, and building a party of them for RPG adventures. Alongside its main stages, The New Denpa Men featured additional activities including island customization, fishing, battles against other players’ parties, and local multiplayer activities.
According to the announcement, The New Denpa Men will officially end service on December 6 at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET, which corresponds to December 7 at 11:00 a.m. JST. The game’s paid-item sales have also been stopped ahead of the shutdown.
That makes for a surprisingly short lifespan for a game that only arrived in 2024, particularly with the Nintendo Switch 2 version having launched as recently as April. For anyone still playing The New Denpa Men, there are now only a couple of months left before its servers go offline for good.
