Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. today announced that TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA™, the latest entry in the TAMAGOTCHI™ CONNECTION: CORNER SHOP series, is coming to the Nintendo Switch™ 2. TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA, sees players becoming shopkeepers in Tamahiko Town, engaging with more than 100 Tamagotchi as they open, customize and grow more than a dozen different shops and enhance their reputation in town. TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition gives players access to three exclusive shops, with all shops utilizing the newly released console’s mouse controls. TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA is coming to the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 27, 2025. Both versions of the game will be compatible with the Tamagotchi Uni device. TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA Nintendo Switch 2 Edition offers three additional shops, for a total of 15 shops in the plaza to enjoy. In the Sushi Shop, grip the Joy-Con™ 2 like you’re making sushi, and serve delicious sushi to customers. Players can dazzle their customers in the Shuriken Shop by showing off their skillful shuriken throwing techniques. It’s all about speed in the combined Sushi Shuriken Shop, where players must quickly prepare sushi and deliver it to hungry customers.
Nintendo Switch 2 players who already own the original Switch version of TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA can access the exclusive content by purchasing the Tamagotchi Plaza Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade pack, and they can access the exclusive content when transitioning to the in-game Nintendo Switch 2 device.
TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA brings back the series’ unique and engaging experience of setting up quirky shops and serving cute characters. The Great Gotchi King has declared that Tamagotchi Fest will be held in the most exciting city on Tamagotchi Planet. It will be up to the player to help Prince Tamahiko turn Tamahiko Town into a lively place fit to welcome the festival. Players open and grow shops, with a dozen different shops that include the Dentist and other returning classics, along with new shops such as Afternoon Tea Shop, Eyeware Shop and more. Each shop features unique gameplay as players serve and attract customers, meeting more than 100 different Tamagotchi and enhancing their and Tamahiko Town’s reputation. Some shops feature couch co-op mini-games playable with a friend.
TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA features a linkage function with Tamagotchi Uni devices, allowing game players to connect with the latest toy model for the first time. By linking the Tamagotchi Uni, they will gain access to exclusive items and events not available in the base game, while supplies last. Tamagotchi Uni is sold separately and not available in all countries.
