Nintendo Switch Online has been Nintendo’s way of providing retro titles for fans on the system, but it has not been without controversy due to the subscription only model. There was concern about what would happen if games were delisted, and that is something that is now happening as Super Soccer will be pulled from the service in Japan on March 28. There is no word yet on if it will be delisted in the west as well.
Nintendo did not provide a reason for the removal , so we do not yet know if it is rights related or something else entirely.
Many have been calling for the return of the virtual console and this will no doubt increase those demands. This is the first time a game is being delisted from Nintendo Switch Online since the service began in 2018, and it remains to be seen if this will be a one off.
Update: The game will be delisted worldwide
