Super Pocket from HyperMegaTech returns, with two new licensed handhelds from Atari and Technos

Blaze Entertainment is delighted to unveil its next products in the HyperMegaTech Super Pocket line, with new licence partners Atari and Technos! These brand-new retro gaming handhelds feature built-in arcade, console and handheld games from these major gaming publishers that can fit in your pocket!

The next two Super Pocket devices coming to retailers in 2024 are the Super Pocket Atari Edition and the Super Pocket Technos Edition. Each console is available for £49, $59, €59 and can be pre-ordered from July 31st before their release in October 2024.

Following the critical acclaim of the first two Super Pocket consoles launched in 2023, these two new handheld consoles also bring you more genuine arcade games, so you can have even more fun and coin-up to beat those games that cost you all your pocket money when you first played them. All this is also alongside the best console games from those publishers, all built-in to your Super Pocket.

The Super Pocket Atari Edition comes with a phenomenal 50 classic games from the legendary company. The console features 13 arcade games including Asteroids, Berzerk, Crystal Castles, Frenzy, and more, plus over 30 home console and handheld games like Adventure, Warbirds, Dark Chambers, Miner 2049’er, and more from four generations of Atari consoles, including Atari 2600, 5200, 7800 and Lynx. All these games are pre-loaded on to your Super Pocket, and presented in an Atari-inspired colour scheme.

Also available is a Special Edition of the Super Pocket Atari Edition in a woodgrain-coloured shell. These consoles are being produced in limited numbers. Only 2600 are available, numbered on the rear of the console. These will retail for £59, €69, $74 and will be available from Funstock.co.uk and Funstock.eu for the UK, US, Canada, Europe and other countries. They will also be available in limited numbers at other retailers worldwide. Pre-orders for this Special Edition console open today (July 2nd, 2024) and will be released in October 2024.

The Super Pocket Technos Edition comes with 15 incredible games built-in to the console from the iconic name behind one of the arcade’s most seminal titles – Double Dragon. Including the full lineup of arcade Double Dragon releases, The Combatribes, Renegade, and more will feature next to the home console and handheld ports of Double Dragon and the cult favourite River City Ransom. The console comes in a Technos-inspired colour scheme.

The Super Pockets feature an easy to use User Interface (UI) that allows you to simply select whichever game you want, easily save or load a game and a variety of screen ratio and pixel perfect options for use on the bright IPS display.

The Super Pocket also brings quick and enjoyable gaming to all players with its “Easy Mode”. This returning feature lowers the difficulty of arcade games so that you can get past hard to master levels with ease, or so that a younger person can avoid encountering challenging difficulty spikes whilst playing.

In addition to the included games, both Super Pockets are fully compatible with Evercade cartridges. These game cartridges made for Blaze Entertainment’s Evercade system contain legally licensed games from multiple publishers and will insert into the Super Pocket through a cartridge port on the rear of the console. The complete library of cartridges is supported meaning that Super Pocket owners can expand their library to over 500 games with these cartridges.

The Super Pocket has had no changes in its much-lauded form factor, being small enough to fit in your pocket (78mm x 125mm x 25mm). It features four face buttons, a start and select button and a menu button, along with a circular D-Pad, designed for the Super Pocket. It also includes four rear buttons for games that require expanded controls from the Evercade cartridge library. The Super Pockets boast a 320×240 colourful and bright IPS screen, a 3.5mm headphone jack and use USB-C to charge its battery.

The Super Pocket Atari Edition and Super Pocket Technos Edition will be available individually at £49, $59 and €59 from multiple retailers including Amazon and Funstock globally, Video Games Plus in the US and Canada, Game in the UK, and many more to be announced around the world.

Super Pocket Atari Edition and Super Pocket Technos Edition will be available to pre-order from July 31st, and will be released in October 2024 in time for the holiday gifting period. The Super Pocket Atari Limited Edition is available to pre-order today (July 2nd, 2024) and will be released at the same time as the other Super Pockets in October.
