Nintendo has released update version 1.4.0 for Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 on both Switch and Switch , and it is a notable one.

In Super Mario Galaxy* and Super Mario Galaxy 2, there are Storybooks that you can read as you progress through the games. The Super Mario Galaxy 2 Storybook features the adventures of the twin Lumas, Mari and Lu, and the lady of shooting stars. Jump into the game to catch up on the story—and enjoy the new fifth chapter after clearing any galaxy and obtaining a Power Star.

- Several issues have been fixed and adjustments made to ensure a smoother gaming experience on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
- A new story has been added to the storybook. Once Final Chapter is available in the storybook, you can read the new story by clearing any galaxy and earning a Power Star.
Note: The software must be updated to Ver. 1.2.0 or later to play on Nintendo Switch 2.
