Brazilian developer Zvitor is back with another fan remake of a classic beat em up. Previously, Zvitor worked on a fan remake of X-men: Mutant Apocalypse as part of his fan game Marvel Infinity Tour, which later got a standalone release. Now, another spinoff is available as he has released a new OpenBOR remake of Spider-Man and Venom : Maximum Carnage for PC and Android, adding in new features, characters and more.

Zvitor called the original Maximum Carnage game, “possibly the most faithful game to the comics that I’ve ever seen”, but has taken the fan project in a new direction that fans will enjoy with major changes. These include multiplayer, unlike the original which only allowed for one player, and a large roster of nineteen characters to choose from, including Wolverine, Captain America, Daredevil, and the Fantastic Four. There are also a further twelve characters to be unlocked after beating the game, including several Spider-Man villains like Doctor Octopus, as well as the late Marvel legend Stan Lee.

Zvitor noted that other changes include the removal of various cutscenes and several changes to the enemies you’ll be facing off against. This remake includes new street enemies from the game’s sequel Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety, as well as a new boss battle against the Sinister Six.

Those interested in playing, can grab the game now from Zvitor’s website and give it a try.
