SEGA is bringing competitive racing and a celebration of Sonic the Hedgehog’s legacy together on October 9, with the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds World Championship 2026 Finals, a Year Two Showcase, and Club Chaos, a special event marking the franchise’s 35th anniversary.
The World Championship Finals will see competitors from around the globe gather in New York City after a summer of online qualifiers that attracted more than 40,000 players. Only 24 finalists secured their places in the live competition, where they will race for the title of World Champion.
Following the competition, SEGA will unveil a detailed roadmap for Year Two of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, offering players a look at what lies ahead for the racing game. The day’s celebrations will then continue with Club Chaos, a one-night anniversary event featuring musical performances, appearances by Sonic talent and creators, sneak peeks, and special announcements.
Hosted by Jacki Jing, the Club Chaos livestream begins at 7:30 p.m. ET, with performances scheduled throughout the evening from Tee Lopes, Thundercat, and Austin Millz. The musical lineup begins with Tee Lopes at 8:30 p.m. ET, followed by Thundercat at 9:30 p.m. ET and Austin Millz at 11 p.m. ET. The broadcast will also feature special pre-show segments and additional content between performances.
Fans tuning in through Twitch will have another reason to watch, as Twitch Drops will allow viewers to earn new in-game content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
