SEGA has confirmed that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds for Nintendo Switch 2 will not be a game-key card and will instead contain the entire experience on its cartridge. The game-key cards have drawn backlash from gamers, so it is great to see more developers going for full games on cart.
It should be noted that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 at a later time after the initial launch. It will launch on Nintendo Switch 1 at the same time as other platforms, and if you get the Switch 1 version, Sega has you covered. There will be an upgrade path for the Switch 2 for a 10 dollar charge and once paid, it will carry over content and progress to Switch 2.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 digitally this holiday, followed by he physical release in early 2026.
In addition, SEGA also released the Customization and Gadgets trailer for the game.
