SEGA Corporation has announced the VIRTUA FIGHTER Open Championship, the first official global tournament for the Virtua Fighter™ series with players competing with the PC (Steam) version of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.™.
The VIRTUA FIGHTER Open Championship will hold a series of regional qualifiers with the first preliminary round being held in North America at COMBO BREAKER 2025 from Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25, 2025. Additional preliminary rounds will be held in Europe, Japan, and Asia (excluding Japan).
Players who win their regional preliminary rounds will have the opportunity to participate in the Grand Final Tournament where the winner will receive a grand prize of $100,000. Additional details of the preliminary rounds in each region and the participation rules can be found on the Virtua Fighter portal site here.
