MAGES. has announced that Seeker Eye, its upcoming occult horror visual novel, will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 on February 25, 2027, in Japan. The newly revealed Switch 2 version joins the previously announced platforms, with the game promising an unsettling mystery that brings together supernatural horror, suspicious deaths, and an unusual perspective on the people caught in its story.
Seeker Eye follows an editor working for an occult magazine who receives a ghost story titled “The Ghost Story of the Red Roof House.” What initially appears to be an ordinary tale about exploring an abandoned house soon takes a much darker turn when he encounters a girl who claims to be one of the people featured in the story. As he investigates its origins, a series of suspicious deaths begins to mirror the events described in the ghost story, drawing him into a mystery involving increasingly terrifying supernatural phenomena.
Although the game is primarily a traditional visual novel, its central gameplay mechanic introduces a rather unusual twist. When the story reaches the late-night hours, players gain access to Seeker Eye mode, which allows them to experience events through the perspective of a supernatural entity. This provides an opportunity to observe the private lives of people connected to the Red Roof House story, uncovering secrets and clues that would otherwise remain hidden. The two perspectives are intended to gradually bring together the pieces of the mystery and reveal who is behind the strange events.
The project also features several creators with connections to MAGES.’ Science Adventure series, including scenario writer Ryou Yasumoto, known for CHAOS;CHILD, composer Takeshi Abo, whose previous work includes STEINS;GATE, and director and art director Fumihiro Kitahara, who has worked on the Science Adventure franchise. The game will also feature more than 1,000 visuals, an extensive voice cast featuring Tomokazu Sugita, Azusa Aoi, Rikako Aida, Ryotaro Okiayu, and Mariko Honda, and a theme song performed by Kanako Ito, a familiar name to fans of the Science Adventure games.
Seeker Eye will launch in Japan on February 25, 2027, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. Physical editions will be available for PS5 and Switch 2, with the latter distributed as a game-key card, while the original Switch version will only be available digitally. A standard edition will cost 6,380 yen, while a limited edition priced at 9,680 yen will include a visual book and soundtrack DVD-ROM. MAGES. has also released the game’s opening movie, offering another look at the supernatural mystery ahead of its Japanese launch.
