SEGA is apparently looking to bring back two classic series. This is according to Shpeshal Nick, a leaker with a good track record.O

n the latest episode of Xbox Era, Nick noted that Sega recently confirmed potential remakes for Sonic, and went on to claim this was not the only Sega IP set to receive this treatment.

“Sega is bringing back some classic stuff. Sega’s looking at Altered Beast and then another game was Gunstar Heroes.”

Nick stated that he does not know if Sega would remaster or remake the games. Because we have no official confirmation yet though, we should take this with a grain of salt, even if Nick has been a reliable source on previous leaks.

For those unfamiliar, Altered Beast was a Beat-Em-Up game released in 1988, set in Ancient Greece, with players tasked to rescue Athena, and would take on the form of several beasts. Gunstar Heroes on the other hand is a Run ‘n’ Gun title from Treasure often held as one of the best games on the Genesis/Mega Drive.
