Badger Punch Games has released retro-inspired roguelike Roguecraft DX on PC via Steam, inviting players into the dangerous dungeons of Mordecoom with a distinctly Amiga-inspired aesthetic. The game is available for $11.99 USD / €12.25 EUR / £10.75 GBP, with a 20% launch discount currently available.

Players can choose between three classes, with the Warrior, Wizard, and Rogue each offering a different playstyle and level of challenge. Whether players prefer to overpower enemies, destroy them with magic, or strike from behind, each run combines combat and exploration with an original Amiga mod tracker soundtrack.

No two trips into the dungeon are quite the same, as layouts, treasures, and enemies change with each run. A successful escape or an unfortunate encounter with one of Mordecoom’s many creatures sends players back into a new dungeon, with each attempt offering another chance to improve their skills and survive the horrors within.

Roguecraft DX also has a stranger challenge waiting for players who manage to master its standard adventures. Chicken Run mode turns players into a vulnerable 2HP chicken tasked with finding golden eggs. Collect enough of them and the humble bird can transform into the monstrous Chicklathotep, gaining new abilities while battling Lovecraftian horrors throughout the dungeon.

Despite its deliberately nostalgic presentation, Roguecraft DX is built around relatively short runs, with each adventure lasting around 30 to 40 minutes. Players can take on a quick dungeon run when they have limited time or continue chaining attempts as they work toward mastering its challenges.

The game also includes Endless Dungeon mode, where players can test how long they can survive while chasing a new high score. Alongside its three classes and changing dungeons, the Chicken Run mode gives Roguecraft DX a suitably bizarre twist on its retro roguelike formula.

Roguecraft DX is available now on PC via Steam for $11.99 USD / €12.25 EUR / £10.75 GBP, with a 20% launch discount. The game is also available as part of a bundle with grid-based rhythm roguelike KAZ from developer Kalinarm and publisher HAKURO.
