The PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC versions of River City: Rival Showdown will include something extra in the form of a special scenario called “Riki’s Story”. This will be added to the main story after clearing the unlockable “River City: Yamada’s Side” mode
Arc System Works America, Inc. announced the upcoming digital release of the classic 2D action game River City: Rival Showdown is receiving a new single-player mode called “Riki’s Story.”
“Riki’s Story” is a unique scenario for single player mode where players experience the three-day River City story from Riki’s eyes as they traverse the town in his shoes and do whatever it takes to find his missing girlfriend, Mami. To unlock and access “Riki’s Story”, players must complete the special mode “Yamada’s Side” or have existing save data for River City Saga: Three Kingdoms.
River City: Rival Showdown will be digitally released in North America this Oct.12, 2023, for Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation 4® and PC via Steam. Steam pre-orders are available now.
Additionally, Arc System Works announced a summer sale special offer for River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Digital Edition for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam. The game is now 20% off for a new price of $23.99 until Aug. 16 at 11:59 PM PDT on PS4 and Switch and Aug. 21 at 10 AM PDT on Steam.
