A new report from Bloomberg gas revealed that Warner Bros. Games is planning to release a Hogwarts Legacy Director’s Cut.

The game was originally developed by Avalanche Software but according to the Bloomberg report, this new version will be made by Rocksteady who have a majority of staff working on the game.  Rocksteady is currently coming off the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, which was the focus of the article (and can be read here). That game lost Warner Bros. Games over 200 million USD, while Hogwarts Legacy sold 23 Million copies in 2023 and was in fact the most successful game of the year, so it makes sense to shift to that title.

This would also explain why Hogwarts Legacy’s new update feels a bit limited in scope, only adding the previously PlayStation exclusive quest, a new photomode and some quality updates. It could be that any planned DLC will simply be used for the Director’s Cut and was shifted as such.

It is not clear on when this will be announced, but hopefully it will be soon.
