One or EIGHT has announced PixelHeroScramble Plus, a new pixel-art tower defense game that will challenge players to hold the line against increasingly dangerous waves of enemies. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on December 1, with a PC demo also planned for release in the near future.

PixelHeroScramble Plus puts players in control of an expanding army of units, with more than 60 different types available to unlock throughout the game. Each unit can serve a different purpose on the battlefield, including inflicting status ailments, slowing down enemies, healing allies, or providing buffs. Players will need to consider where and when they deploy their units while also deciding when to upgrade or replace them.

The game uses fixed enemy routes, allowing players to focus on building effective combinations and adapting their defenses as each wave progresses. Alongside standard enemies, players will also have to contend with imposing bosses that can put even carefully prepared defenses to the test.

PixelHeroScramble Plus also adds several abilities designed to give players more control when battles become overwhelming. EX Skills can be activated at crucial moments to unleash powerful effects, ranging from meteor strikes to defensive barriers. Single-use items can also provide an emergency advantage when a stage is close to being lost.

The pixel-art presentation extends across the game’s environments, units, and interface, with battles taking place across locations including city streets, grasslands, and deserts. Three difficulty settings will be available: Normal, Hard, and Challenge, with the latter introducing additional restrictions for players looking for a tougher test.

PixelHeroScramble Plus will launch for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on December 1. The game will support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, while a PC demo is planned for a later date.
