Konami has released a free update for Super Bomberman Collection that adds Panic Bomber W to the package on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.

Originally released in 1995, Panic Bomber W is a competitive puzzle title built around chain reactions and bomb attacks, with strategy centred on the powerful “Big Bomb.” It’s a different flavour of Bomberman altogether, trading the series’ usual arena combat for puzzle-driven one-on-one showdowns, and it gives the collection a genuinely different mode of play rather than just another reskin of the core formula.

The update also folds Panic Bomber W’s soundtrack into the collection’s “BOMB Radio” feature, so players can listen to the game’s tracks during matches or on their own, outside of actual gameplay.

Super Bomberman Collection already brought together all five Super Bomberman entries released between 1993 and 1997, including a couple of titles that never left Japan the first time around, alongside the original Bomberman and Bomberman II. The package layers on modern conveniences like Save/Load Anytime and Rewind, plus a Boss Rush mode, the aforementioned BOMB Radio, and a gallery of roughly 200 character illustrations pulled from across the series’ history.

With Panic Bomber W now part of the mix, Super Bomberman Collection rounds out its lineup with one of the series’ more unusual detours, giving longtime fans a reason to dive back in even if they’ve already cleared everything else on offer.
