Nintendo has released a new overview trailer for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, offering a closer look at the sports, activities, and island exploration awaiting players when the game launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22.
Returning to Wuhu Island, the upcoming release combines familiar pick-up-and-play sports with new competitions and opportunities to explore the resort at your own pace. Players can enjoy the experience with friends and family, either in person or online, while discovering activities spread across land, sea, and sky.
The game features 12 sports, including Boxing, Archery, and Thumb Wrestling, with Joy-Con 2 motion controls bringing some of the competitions to life. Players can also earn Spocco Points through gameplay and exchange them for character customizations, including outfits, hairstyles, and sports equipment. Those looking for a greater challenge can take on the island’s top-ranked competitors in the new Island Crown Mode, with the possibility of eventually facing an Island Legend.
Beyond the competitive events, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort offers several ways to explore Wuhu Island. Skateboarding, Power Cruising, and Prop Plane modes let players travel around the resort at their own pace, while cameras scattered throughout the island can reveal sightseeing spots and provide opportunities to take Spocco Photos. Players can also warm up with Jump Rope before heading into the island’s other activities.
Customization is another part of the experience, with options to change a Sportsmate’s hairstyle, outfit, accessories, and body type. Players can also create a Mii on Nintendo Switch 2 or bring an existing Mii into the game.
