Here is some interesting news, as a new 18+ version of the Nintendo Switch Online N64 app has been announced for users in Japan with the first two games confirmed for the app beingGoldenEye 007 and Jet Force Gemini, releasing on November 30 in Japan, the same day the new version launches.
While GoldenEye 007 was previously released for Nintendo Switch Online via the Expansion Pack tier at the start of 2023 in North America and Europe, it is only now reaching Jaspan and it is possible that the game’s CERO Z rating affected things. This amounts to a PEGI 18 rating and would be an issue for other releases as well, so this seems to be a new compromise for future games as well.
This should not apply to Western players since Goldeneye was released on the expansion pass without issue in North America and Europe.
