Nintendo has once more updated their Switch 2 backwards compatibility list, and is now saying that 98.88% of all third party Switch titles have passed basic compatibility testing, have received updates to fix issues on Switch 2, or will be receiving receive updates to run on Nintendo Switch 2.
The remaining issues are as follows:
- 6 titles are not compatible with Nintendo Switch 2
- 162 titles have issues discovered during basic compatibility testing, and Nintendo is discussing with the publishers of these titles
- 185 titles have received updates or will receive updates to run on Switch 2
Considering the vast library of Nintendo Switch titles, with over 15 000 released worldwide, this is quite an impressive feat.
But what if you want to buy software that is not fully compatible yet on Switch 2? Well, Nintendo Switch games that are not compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, or have had problems running in basic compatibility testing, cannot be purchased on the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch 2 and will be listed as “not available for purchase” along with a warning that the game is unsupported on the product page.
