The series also known as Sonic Wings in Japan, began with the release of Aero Fighters in 1992, and was followed up by sequels Aero Fighters 2 in 1994 and Aero Fighters 3 in 1995, a compilation game called Aero Fighters Special in 1996, and the 3D game Aero Fighters Assault in 1997.
This game will be the first new entry in the series in 27 years. A presentation event for the new Aero Fighters game will be held at EXBAR TOKYO plus in Shinjuku, Tokyo on November 8 at 20:00 JST. New information about the game and available platforms will be announced there.
