The puppets are getting ready to welcome a new group of players, as DreadXP has announced that My Friendly Neighborhood will be making its way to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22. The survival horror game will also be available through Game Pass, giving Switch 2 owners another opportunity to explore its decidedly unfriendly neighborhood.
My Friendly Neighborhood originally launched for PC via Steam in July 2023 before expanding to PlayStation and Xbox in July 2025. The Switch 2 release now brings the puppet-filled horror adventure to Nintendo’s latest hardware, with the game combining survival horror, action, adventure, and puzzle-solving.
Players take on the role of Gordon, a repairman sent to investigate the sudden return of The Friendly Neighborhood, a once-popular children’s television show. The colorful puppet cast has returned to the airwaves after the show’s studio closed down, but something has clearly gone wrong. Instead of the educational adventures audiences remember, the puppets have become hostile and, rather alarmingly, seem to have developed a taste for eating each other.
My Friendly Neighborhood takes a somewhat different approach to survival horror by focusing on unsettling situations and persistent enemies rather than graphic gore. Gordon has access to unusual weapons such as the Rolodexer, which uses letters as ammunition, while exploration involves navigating a non-linear environment, solving puzzles, and keeping track of resources through a grid-based real-time inventory system.
The game also features a variety of locations inspired by the children’s-show setting, including Ray’s Workshop and the cardboard-themed Crayon Halls. Players will have to contend with the neighborhood’s puppet inhabitants while uncovering what happened to the television studio and why the Friendly Neighborhood has become anything but friendly.
The Switch 2 version will launch digitally on October 22, with Game Pass availability also confirmed. It will additionally include the post-game Neighborhorde mode, giving players another reason to return after completing the main survival horror adventure.
