Nintendo has updated their list of Switch games and apps that are compatible with Switch 2. The vast majority of titles released on Switch will work fine on Switch 2, but there continues to be instances where minor issues will crop up, or software won’t work at all. Nintendo is working to fix these issues and will continue to do so, and has began listing where issues are expected to be resolved.
That being said, we have focused on how games will run on Switch 2, but there are other types of software on Switch. Nintendo has mentioned that multiple streaming services for Switch simply won’t work on Switch 2 at all, or will function with some problems.
The following will not work on Switch 2:
- Niconico
- ABEMA
- Hulu
- Crunchyroll
When it comes to to YouTube, Nintendo says the app “has startup issues” on Switch 2. and it is talking with Google to find a solution for this,. This could result in a free update for the Switch app or a completely new YouTube app for Switch 2. We will let you know what happens either way.
