There is a lot to keep track of in W.A.N.D. Project. in terms of what to manage and how things work, but this creates a lot of possibilities for multiple playthroughs. You must craft your spells and arrange them in ways that work for you and your character build, while also making small progress each run for overall growth. The system takes a while to get used to, both in terms of how you set up spells, how they are laid out and arranged and how things work, but the difference is that when it clicks with you, you suddenly realize that W.A.N.D. Project. opens up the roguelite bullet heaven genre to a lot more opportunities.
You decide how the character worlds and how you will heal, how you will cast magic and projectiles, and you can change it up on the go once you understand things. The game is a reverse of easy to learn and difficult to master in that it is rather challenging to learn, but once that is out of the way, mastering it is a simple task. I can see why so many have written off W.A.N.D. Project, but they were far too quick to do so. The developers even brought in a stat mechanic so you can understand things better and create some truly memorable runs.
It is not all good though, but that is mainly due to the music in the game being extremely sub part as far as I am concerned and not due to the gameplay. Visually, the game is fine and thankfully not as overstimulating as some other choices. If more music options could be patched in later, it would improve the game in my opinion
Overall, W.A.N.D. Project. is different. this is a strategy roguelite bullet heaven and not just about the action. If you are ready for something a little different in the genre, then this is one to check out for sure.
